Assistant Accountant

Main Duties

· Assist with Transactional finance duties monthly reconciliation and handling financial queries

· Supporting management accounts preparation.

· Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.

· Conduct balance sheet reconciliations

· Support fixed asset management.

· Contribute to the production of monthly management accounts pack.

· Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy in all financial reporting.

· Skills and Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a similar accounting role is essential.

· Knowledge of management accounts and financial reporting.

· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

· High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.

· Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed on time and reconciling items investigated and resolved monthly

· Appropriate evidence maintained to support period end prepayments, accruals and controls

· Compliance with internal control requirements.

· Develop effective working relationships with budget holders.

· Proactively support the Group Financial Controller and Finance Manager in the review of current processes as part of the Groups continuous improvement journey. A key focus area to include process location and activity timing with a view to maximise efficiency and manage resource constraints at month end.

40 hours per week working Monday to Friday
