About The Role

As the Facilities Manager for GSF Car Parts, you will join the fast-paced Property team being solely be responsible for the physical upkeep of the Group’s property network by managing day to day maintenance, repair and renewal issues raised throughout the Property network, and ensure Group statutory compliance. 

As the Facilities Manager, you will be proactive and positive towards branch and Company promotion and initiatives; leading on our aim to be the best supplier, employer and customer within our industry.

With our aim to be a flexible employer, this role offers hybrid working, however you will also be required to travel within the branch network as part of the role. 
Main Duties include:

  • Manages the day-to-day issues raised throughout the network via the property helpdesk.
  • Manages and maintains the help desk log and ensures all jobs are with efficiently, by ensuring all are completed or escalated for a decision.
  • Delivers clear communication and keeps branches and other stakeholders fully informed of progress.
  • Proactively manages a preventative maintenance programme and a branch improvement schedule.
  • Ensures facility equipment such as heaters, air conditioning is maintained in line with approved guidelines or Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensures Group compliance to Statutory Property Legislation is maintained and that it is recorded and monitored through a suitable database.
  • Reviews and where required challenges contractor quotes in terms of costs and necessity  
  • Liaises with key contractors and suppliers in a timely manner, ensuring complete satisfaction within agreed service levels, and ensures work is delivered in a cost-effective manner.
  • Reviews ongoing Property contracts and ensures best economic value as appropriate. 
  • Coordinate contractors and suppliers where necessary and ensures they work within agreed Health & Safety protocols and insurance constraints.
  • Expands network of contractors where possible
  • Manages a budget for reactive work and maintains a rolling forecast
  • Manages a Capital Expenditure forecast and maintains a rolling forecast
  • Produces regular and ad hoc reports and analysis to show status of work, and financial implications
  • Works on Project Work such as new branch, Branch changes, refits or branch moves.
  • Works on Dilapidations or Landlord requests as appropriate
  • Works with Property Director, Health & Safety, Finance, IT, Operational teams, Field Management and Branch Management and manages other Facilities team members.
  • Liaising with Finance on any insurance claims through break ins etc.
  • Dealing with Out of Hours issues as appropriate through retained contractors.
  • May be required to visit sites as appropriate
Working Hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

About You

The successful candidate will have management experience gained within a property/facilities role, ideally from within a commercial, multi-site organisation.

  • Computer Literate. Proficient in MS Office and in particular must have database skills using MS Excel.
  • Sound knowledge of statutory property legislation would be advantageous 
  • Full UK driving licence
